Why water shows up where it does
Water surfaces at the lowest point it can reach, which is often far from the failure. A puddle at the patio can be a separated joint uphill, a discharge outlet buried by a neighbour, or a downspout tie that came apart. The symptom rarely marks the cause.
How we test a system under load
We introduce measured water at each inlet and watch where it goes and how fast, then camera the runs that behaved wrongly. A system can look fine when dry and fail at storm volume, so testing at realistic flow is the only way to reproduce the fault.
What we do when regrading is the answer
Sometimes the drainage is fine and the ground is the problem, and pretending otherwise sells work that will not help. We will say so plainly, explain what grading would involve, and stop there rather than jetting a line that was never blocked.

Why does water keep coming back to the same spot in my yard?
Usually because the cause is somewhere else and the spot is just the lowest point it reaches. Until the actual entry point or failure uphill is found, clearing the visible symptom keeps buying a few months at a time.
Two contractors have not fixed my drainage. What is different here?
We inspect and test before recommending, and we tell you when the answer is not drainage work. Most repeat failures we see were the right repair applied to the wrong location, because nobody put a camera in the line first.
Is standing water always a drainage problem?
No. It can be grade, soil compaction, a downspout discharging into a bed, or an irrigation fault. Those need different fixes, and knowing which one you have is the whole point of troubleshooting before quoting.
